Switzerland Journeys

I’m Paolo, and I’m excited to be your guide!

I’m Paul (but people that know and love me call me Paolo!). I’m the founder of Switzerland Journeys.

Why do I do this?

I started traveling 20 years ago. I booked every cheap ticket I could get my hands on. I worked from my laptop from Slovenia, Thailand, even the kingdom of Bhutan.

I spent freezing Februaries in Berlin because for some reason there was always an affordable flight to Berlin.

I made friends around the world. I got what is called the ‘Traveler’s Curse’. Too many people I love, not enough time to travel to see them.

A Travel Philosophy Emerged

What I learned about travel is that it was never just the common, pretty sites that were fulfilling, but learning about the culture, the food, the people and wandering with a sense of freedom our lives don’t often afford us.

These days, I travel better, in various ways!

I do like nice hotels, but in addition to nice amenities, they have to have character and good people who are enthusiastic about hospitality. I also need doses of culture and a sense of place. I don’t want to just see the mountain, I want to hike 2 hours with a group to a Swiss farm and learn how to make cheese on the mountain. I want to hear what the farmer loves, and what the challenges are. I want a mixture of views, dining, on hands experiences, ease and challenge. I think it keeps us young!

What you can expect from me

Integrity.
Mom raised me well. I’ll do my very best in every situation to help you feel well traveled, comfortable and taken care of.

Positivity.
I want to find what is special about a place, person or experience and help you appreciate it.

Storytelling.
Don’t we all have great travel stories? I’ve certainly got a few interesting ones!

Creativity.
I’ll continually look for interesting, memorable experiences. You can count on last minute options that will fill in trips with the extras that are memorable.

Adventure & Whimsy.
Let’s see the world and have the most wonderful time doing it.

Looking forward to traveling with you.

Proscht, Salute, and Santé!
